How First Roth handles your family's information.

Effective: October 6, 2026

Summary

First Roth (“the app”) is published by Chore Coach LLC, doing business as Lindon Digital (“we”, “us”). It helps parents keep records of real work their children do, the pay they give them, and their children’s Roth IRA contributions.

Everything you record in First Roth is stored on your iPhone. We do not run a server for your data, there are no accounts, and we do not collect, receive, sell, or share your records, your children’s information, or your photos. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics.

Information about your children

The app is used by parents. You may enter your child’s first name, date of birth, work records, payments, and photos of their work (which may show your child). This information stays on your iPhone and is never sent to us.

Social Security numbers and EINs

When you create a W-2 worksheet, you type your child’s Social Security number and your EIN. The app uses them only to create the file on your iPhone. They are not saved in the app, and the app deletes its copy of the file after you share or save it. Where you send the file is your choice.

Businesses. If you pay your child through a business, you can enter its name, type, address and state, and optionally the last 4 digits of its EIN, so you pick the right EIN when filing. These stay on your iPhone like your other records. The full EIN is never saved.

What the app uses and why

Camera and Photos (optional). To attach before-and-after photos, receipts, and transfer screenshots as evidence. Photos are copied into the app’s storage on your iPhone; the copy does not keep the original photo’s embedded data (EXIF).

Time and place of library photos. When you pick a photo from your library, the app reads the time the photo was taken and, if the location stamp is on, the location saved in the photo, so it can stamp the photo with when and where it was taken. That time and place are stored with the record on your iPhone, and the location is turned into a street address as described under “Address lookups.”

Location while using the app (optional). To add the place to clock-ins and photos taken with the camera. You can turn the location stamp off in Settings › Photos & location › Location stamp, or in iPhone Settings › First Roth.

Each permission is requested only when the related feature is used.

Address lookups

Address suggestions. When you type an address — yours, your business’s, or your child’s for a W-2 worksheet — the app suggests matching addresses using Apple Maps. The text you type in those fields is sent to Apple to find the suggestions.

Place names for stamps. To turn a location (from your iPhone or from a library photo) into a street address for the stamp, the app uses Apple’s built-in map services, which receive the coordinates.

These requests go directly from your iPhone to Apple and are handled under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive them.

Purchases

Family Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we do not receive your payment details or Apple Account information.

Backups and exports

Backup files. Settings › Back up everything creates one .zip file with all your records and photos, including your children’s information (names, dates of birth, work records, payments, and photos that may show them). The file is not encrypted or password-protected. You choose where to save it — for example Files, iCloud Drive, or a computer — so keep it somewhere private and delete copies you no longer need. Social Security numbers and full EINs are never in a backup, because the app never saves them (a backup includes the last 4 digits of a business’s EIN if you entered them).

Copy before a restore. Before restoring a backup, the app saves a copy of the records already on your iPhone inside the app, so you can undo the restore. It stays on your iPhone until the next restore or until you delete all data.

iCloud Backup. If you use iCloud Backup, your iPhone may include the app’s data in your personal backup, stored under your Apple Account by Apple.

Exports. When you export a spreadsheet or PDF, you choose where to send it — for example, to your tax preparer. The app deletes its own copy after the share sheet closes. We never see your backups or exports.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your or your child’s name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, identifiers, or usage data. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Children

First Roth is meant for parents and is not directed to children under 13. We do not collect personal information from children; information about your child stays on your device under your control.

Data retention, security, and deletion

Your records stay on your iPhone, protected by iOS security, until you delete them. Delete any record inside the app, use Settings › Delete all data to erase everything, or delete the app.

Delete all data erases the app’s records, photos, and the copy saved before a restore on that iPhone. It does not delete files you saved or shared outside the app — backup files, PDFs, spreadsheets, or anything you sent to someone else — and it does not change iCloud Backups already made of your iPhone. Delete those copies yourself.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because we do not collect or hold personal information, your data is fully under your control in the app. If you have a question or request, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we add a feature that sends information off your iPhone — for example, optional W-2 e-filing through an IRS/SSA-authorized provider — we will update this page, explain exactly what is sent and to whom, and ask for your consent in the app before the feature is available.
